The Books Behind the Back Returns, Rebuilt

The IRS will not approve an offer or an installment agreement until every return is filed. The returns cannot be filed until the books exist. That step is all we do.

Autonomi Books rebuilds business books for tax resolution cases: from the banker's box, the bank statements, or the transcripts. Your preparer files from our work. You keep representing. We never contact the IRS.

US-based · CPA-reviewed · Fixed fee per file · Nothing ever sent to the IRS by us

How a reconstruction works

  1. 1You or your client send us whatever exists: bank statements, the shoebox, QuickBooks access, or just the account names. Banks provide up to seven years of statements on request, so "no records" is almost never the end of the story.
  2. 2We reconstruct every unfiled year from actual records: statements, invoices, and third-party documents. No estimated expenses, ever. That judgment stays with the preparer.
  3. 3A US-based CPA reviews every file, and nothing is finished until every account reconciles and the subledgers tie out.
  4. 4Filing-ready books go to you, your client, or the CPA you designate. They file the returns. You run the case. Your deadline keeps moving.

Start with a scope call

Fifteen minutes with our CPA on your worst file. You walk away with a written scope and a fixed quote you can price into your engagement before you commit to anything. If the client has an existing QuickBooks file, a $499 read-only diagnostic gets you a written findings report with dollar amounts, and the $499 credits toward the reconstruction.

What comes back for every rebuilt year

Complete general ledger, trial balance, P&L, balance sheet, and reconciliations, plus a written log explaining every categorization decision. If a return gets examined, the reasoning behind every number is already on paper. The sample pack is a monthly set of those statements. A reconstruction includes them for each unfiled year.

Financial statements are built to support the case, including the numbers behind Forms 433-A, 433-B, and 433-F. Everything routes through you or the client's representative. Nothing goes to the IRS from us, under any circumstance.

Why resolution practices hand this to us

  • We are the step before your work, not a competitor for it. We do not prepare returns, we do not represent, and we never contact your client without your say-so.
  • Fixed fee per file, quoted in writing before you commit. Bill it into your engagement and mark it up, or have us bill the client directly with a referral fee back to you. Your practice, your model.
  • The worst files are our specialty. Three years behind, box of paper, closed business, SFR balances built on made-up numbers: that is the work we built the system for.
  • Speed matches the IRS clock. Active cases carry live deadlines, and reconstruction starts the day the engagement is funded.

After the case, keep the client clean

Most resolution clients are continuing businesses. Once the back years are rebuilt and the returns are filed, we can keep the books current month over month so your client never lands back on the IRS's list, and your next annual filing is a review exercise instead of a rescue.

Ask about ongoing monthly bookkeeping on your scope call if you want both.
